A lily for the merciful one,
an omen for the days,
given by the hand of the darkest one
who once shone brightest
of them all.
He remembers the dark,
before it ever became dark.
And so he clutches the flower
forevermore, even though
its poison slowly seeps
through the chasms
of his heart.
