Commission Information

Interested in having your very own custom piece of artwork done by me? Here's where you can find out how! Below is information primarily directed at illustration. If you are wanting to commission a custom sculpture, jewelry, or prayer beads, use the same form. Just ignore all fields except for the description box.

Pricing Information

Illustration

Prices for illustration range greatly depending on how complex the design, the cost of materials, the size of the piece, and how much time is involved. A very ballpark idea would be $5 USD for a sketch, $15 USD for an inked line art, and $45 for full-color. However this could vary greatly, so it's best to use the forms at the top and bottom of the page to contact Katherine for a more accurate quote.

Jewelry/Prayer Beads

The cost of custom jewelry and prayer beads is very similar to the prices of pieces listed in the store. Costs may be added or subtracted depending on the cost of the materials you wish to be used. Also notice that many of the materials may have to be custom ordered, which doesn't cost more, but does make the turn around time a bit longer.

Payment Information

If the commission price is under $10, the full amount is due upfront.

If the commission price is over $10, then half the payment is due upfront. After I receive the first half, I will do the initial sketches that will be sent to you for approval. I will make corrections to them up to three times! Once you've approved the sketches, then the other half of the payment is due. I will send a low resolution of the completed art to see if there are any changes you want made (be aware certain mediums are more changeable than others!).

Once the artwork is done, approved, and payment all in, you will receive a high-resolution file of your work. If you want the original of the art, you will have to pay additional shipping fees. (Please note: There's nothing to ship if your order is for digital art!).

I accept paypal and money orders only.

If you back out of the commission, refunds will not be given. If, however, I decide that I cannot handle the commission, a full refund will be given.

Art Trades and Collaboration

I'm almost always up for an art trade or a collaborative work, unless I'm completely swamped! For art trades, the same rules apply as to what I will and will not do, found in the Commission section. I'll mainly request portraits of people who are important to me.

I won't work on a collaborative piece unless I feel our styles can mesh, and most importantly, I have to be interested in the subject matter! The more I'm interested in it, the better it will turn out. Please see my gallery to get a general feel for my work before contacting me.

If you want a trade, send me a note with "Trade Request". If you want to do a collaborative piece, please title it: "Collaboration Request".

The Fine Print

Artist's Rights

I reserve the rights to your commissioned artwork. This means I retain the rights to make and sell prints, use it on my website and in my galleries, and publish it in anthologies and books. If this bothers you, please let me know ahead of time. I'm a very agreeable person, and if you don't want your order used as described above, let me know. Artwork of a highly personal matter, such as portraits of real people and original characters, will not be used for profit in any way.

Buyer's Usage

Feel free to use your commissioned artwork in non-commercial ventures! For example, you could hang it on your wall, use it on your blog, myspace, forums, facebook, or website. You don't even have to give me credit, just so long as you do not claim to have created the art yourself!

Also feel free to create things with it for gifting or personal use. Think your mum would like the picture on a mug for Mother's Day? Go for it! Want to put it on a T-shirt for you to wear? Go ahead! As long as you are not using your commissioned piece for profit or claiming it as your own, it's groovy.

How to Order/Get a Quote

In order to get an accurate price on what you're wanting to order, please fill out the form below. Katherine will then get back to you as soon as possible with the price; there is absolutely no obligation, and I don't bite.

Important information to consider and note: how many characters? What about background? How complex and detailed are the character designs? The more you note me in the beginning, the more accurate price I can get you.
